We do not install roofs. We do not repair them. We do not maintain them.
That is a deliberate commercial decision, and it is the foundation the business is built on. Surveyroof is an independent roof survey company working across the whole of the United Kingdom. From our base in Bolton, Greater Manchester, we survey, test and report on commercial and industrial roofs for building owners, facilities teams, managing agents, main contractors, consultants and solar installers.
Why independence changes the report
When the company that surveys your roof also quotes for the repair, the survey has a commercial outcome attached to it. Every finding sits next to a potential invoice.
Our report has no such attachment. We have nothing to gain from finding more defects than exist, and nothing to lose by telling you the membrane is sound. What you receive is a record of the roof’s condition — the defects, their locations, photographic evidence and marked-up drawings — and nothing beyond that.
You then take that report wherever it needs to go: to a roofing contractor for targeted repair, to a consultant supporting a recommendation, to an insurer, to a board approving a budget, or into an asset file as a condition baseline for future comparison.
The Right Test, Not The Only Test
Most roof problems are not visible from the surface. A membrane can look sound and still be breached; a stain inside a building is often nowhere near the point of water entry.
Getting to an accurate answer means selecting the correct method for the roof in front of you, which is why we maintain the full range rather than one specialism.
Where a previous investigation has failed to find the source of ingress, it is often because the method used was wrong for that roof construction. We advise on the appropriate method before anything is booked, and we say so when a roof does not need the more expensive option.
